How to Get Around Thailand
Phuket:
- Bolt – the cheapest option in Phuket.
- Grab App – I used them they are safe, clean, and affordable taxis. Grab Taxi Service.
- Tuk Tuk – Fun for the experience, but pricey. I tried them ones for fun.
- Booked Tours – The best option in my opinion, most include transport and a guide. I highly recommend them.
Phi Phi Islands:
- Ferry from Phuket (approx. 3 hours)
- No vehicles on the island – The whole island is just 12.06 km².
Koh Lanta:
- Ferry from Phi Phi (approx. 2 hours) – Book in advance at the Phi Phi port.
- Taxis are available at arrival.
I advise you to check this and Pre-book all ferries in advance.
Wi-Fi & Connectivity
- Airalo app for reliable e-SIM data – it’s my “go to” app everywhere I travel.
- Thai SIM cards are available as well on site.
- Revolut eSIM is also a good option if you’re already using the app
Travel Tips & Reminders
- Exchange some Thai Baht in Thailand, not your home country !!!
- Don’t underestimate ferry or taxi transfer times
- Be cautious around monkeys – they are cute but sneaky!
- Always cover shoulders & knees at temples
- Carry some cash for markets & massage spots
- Book everything early if traveling in peak season
